Welcome to the groundbreaking "Science of Smokability" study, a joint venture by the Cannabis Research Coalition (CRC), The Network of Applied Pharmacognosy (NAP) and Controlled Chemistry. Our study dives deep into the fascinating world of cannabis, exploring how cultivation practices, flower properties, and post-harvest handling influence its smokability and desirable attributes.

Join us as we unravel these mysteries in a multiphase research project that bridges the gap between cultivators, medical practitioners, and consumers.
Led by Dr. Allison Justice of CRC and the Hemp Mine, alongside Dr. Riley Kirk and Dr. Miyabe Shields from NAP, this study focuses on the complete cannabis journey - from seed to smoke. Our research will examine physical metrics like ash characteristics, carbohydrate changes, nitrosamines and smoke composition, complemented by community feedback on taste, heaviness, and overall effects. This holistic approach aims to correlate specific cultivation and post-harvest practices with desirable smoke qualities.
This unique partnership strategically connects the cannabis industry, academia, and consumers, pushing towards higher-quality medicine and sustainable, predictable cultivation metrics. We're looking for volunteers to participate in human trials, starting with exploring the impact of moisture content on various aspects like smoothness, ash color, and lightability.
