In this month's CRC Open Forum, we explored a range of exciting topics, including mycelium cultivation, CRC membership updates, and key research progress. A major highlight was the completion of phase one of the Science of Smoke (SOS) project, which examined water activity. Phase two will now focus on nutrients and flushing—investigating their impact on smoking quality.

Additional updates included progress on the CRC research center, which is nearing completion, and the decision to postpone our annual meetup to the spring. We also had an in-depth discussion on flushing—debating its effects on post-harvest shelf life, visual quality, and overall product perception.

Another hot topic was the challenge of achieving compliant THC levels in hemp, sparking conversation about the need for better regulation and deeper scientific understanding.
