Oct 2023 Recording
In our recent meeting, we discussed the latest research developments and welcomed new CRC members. We reviewed our intracanopy study conducted with Statehouse and the joint research with Alabama State & CRC on pyrethrins. We also delved into the topic of propagation fertility.
Our scientific advisors addressed several questions from members:
Best practices for storing unrooted cuttings and clone cold storage.
Changes in flower tissue composition at various stages: alive, during drying, curing, and while on the shelf. This included a focus on the starch to sugar ratio, as well as cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids during these phases.
The impact of anthocyanins on combustion, either positively or negatively, and their potential influence on flavor or mouthfeel. This included a discussion on whether the mild astringent quality of anthocyanins could contribute to a bitter taste in smoked flower, similar to what might be caused by high starch levels.
